Be careful what you wish for....(or think)
I heard about this http://www.tech.co.uk/home-entertainment/gaming/news/mind-powered-gaming-neuro-headset?articleid=1479683828 on Radio 4 the other day. Fancy your every thought and emotion being visible via your online avatar? Now where, I wonder, could all this lead to....?

I think i'd be in trouble... often...
even if everyone had the choice to do this, i kinda think that few would, i mean not everyone use's :P all the time
People are often reluctant to use their webcams or voice chat so I dont think this would be much different. However, it would be interesting to see the effects on avatars. These are, for many, versions of their 'alter ego' - so it would be interesting to see how emotions/thoughts were transmitted when there is possibilty of conflict....does it reflect what you feel as 'you' in 'realspace' or 'your alterego' in 'cyberspace'???....
Wow, Cinnamon. That's a thought. It's bordering on dissociation (have a look at Ernest Hilgard's stuff on this). Reverting back to the biopsychologist in me, I suppose it is possible for the location of maximal EEG activity to shift slightly depending on whether it's reflecting the user's emotion or the avatars? IF this works as well as they advertise I can see it having a few forensic applications too.
People don't always use :p, Conan? What do they use instead? :O? .....;)
